These photos were an experiment in capturing the passage of time. I used a variety of methods, setting my camera up and taking a photo over set time intervals, and later arranging images together consecutively, or digitally overlapping them, or in one case using a long shutter speed to capture all the light/images over time at once. Though time was the subject, the surveillance and control that digital devices hold over our lives was quickly apparent, as the subjects (my family) were very much enthralled by the television or a computer (the family dog, who dozes under the watchful red eye of the power button watches). Over time even my nephew's energy is tamed by the television.
